The family Camping Trip

Well camping season is almost upon us, Its time throw the family and all the camping equipment in the car, hook onto the boat and take a trip to the lake for a weekend of somewhat leisure. The only down side it takes hours to load the car and when you get to the lake, it takes an hour or two to set up camp. That is when the leisure part comes into play. The Kids will hike all over the park. Oddly when they’re at home, they won’t walk around the block. Your family will fish, water ski, swim, get more exercise than they have had all week. Then its time for dinner there is nothing like eating food cooked on an open fire in the great outdoors. Though it’s the same food, you eat at home it just seams to taste better. At bed time you go into the tent get everybody settled in for the night and get to go to sleep hearing all the sounds of nature. After two or three days of this activity it is time to go home. Pack up the tent, roll up the sleeping bags you get the idea. It always seams to take longer to pack up camp then it did to set it up, Im not sure why. The only question  IS IT WORTH IT ALL the answer is by all means YES.  Be it at the lake or on a hiking trail there is no better quality time spent as a family than in the great outdoors. In short get out there.  It’s a wonderful place to be.

Camp Fire Tips

Have you ever been on a camping trip and all the wood was damp or green you just couldn’t get a fire started. If you are like most people you have a bag of charcoal that you planned to use to cook those burgers, take a handful of charcoal place it in the bottom of the fire pit place some small pieces of wood over them and fire them up. In just a few moments it will make a bed of hot charcoal that will dry the wood and you will have a roaring fire in no time.

Chinook Twin Peaks Guide 6 Person Plus, Fiberglass

This blog is a product review for The Chinook Twin Peaks Guide 6 Person Plus Tent with Fiberglass Poles. This is a really cool tent.  It has two rooms one with room large enough to sleep six, with an attached screen room large enough for a small picnic table. If you wish there is a removable snapin floor that goes in the screen area so it can be used it for an extra sleeping area. The only problem I see is the floor in the screen room does not completely seal, but in dry condition it would work well. This tent is waterproof not just water resistence. It has an extra long rain fly to keep rain well away from the tent floor and body, it also has Chinooks lifetime warranty. Just a few of the cool features of this tent is listed below.

-Tent has plenty of headroom with peaks that are 6'6" high
-Quick and easy set-up
-Overall size 142 ft2
-3 season tent

In short this is a nice tent for family outings and quite possibly the last tent the user will ever have to buy. I understand this is only my opinion, but if you saw this tent I think you would agree.
